Hard Disk making sound when processing

Hi guys,
I have VGN-FS315S and whenever the HD LED glows i also hear a slight sound looks like Hard Disk sound. I am not sure if this is from the date i bought it, Is it normal for a notebook,
Pl. reply back.

Can you give us more information on the sound please?

Is the sound a sort of metal grating sound and is the sound new.?

If the sound is as above it may be an early warning that your hard drive is on the way out, as
a precaution it would be wise to back any important data as soon as possible..
