FZ11Z screen goes black

I bought my VAIO FZ11Z in Aug 2007.

Problem is:
Sometimes the screen goes blank as if some light is switched off and i could see the screen content without the backlight. If i close the Lid and then Open i will get the backlight.

Please let me know is it hardware problem or problem with Vista?

I thought I was theonly person with this problem.
My BR disc does not allow to play SM 3 either arrrr.

Could I ask if you have completed all the system updates along with windows update?

Sounds like an older graphic driver to me.
