FS285M Special Keys

I have recently purchased a Vaio FS285M notebook. Really pleased with it but after completing all the updates, my special keys do not work. Neither do the function keys on the main keyboard.
Please help

Hi budgiedove and welcome to Club Vaio.

You need to re-install a couple of utilities. Have a look for C:\utils, if not there then download the pre-installed utilities from Vaio-Link . Install Sony Utilities (installer 1folder) and Sony Shared Library (Installer 2 folder), in that order – this should solve your problem.

Hi again. I have downloaded the files you suggested and have installed folder2. When I ran setup from folder1 I was prompted to uninstall the utility. I didn't as I assume it is already installed ok. The special keys and function keys still do not work. Any suggestions?

Did you install Sony utilities (Install folder 1) first? If so and you were prompted to first uninstall then maybe you should – I have not encountered this message before.

Following the uninstall/re-re-install of Sony Utilities you may need to re-install other utilities if you encounter further problems, re-install in the folder sequence.
