I am having problems with my wireless internet connection to our home network router. I am connected to the network and surfing the internet. I go away for a while having closed the lid (which I have set as go into standby) and when I come back and open the lid I cannot access the internet. I am fairly experienced with computers and have worked for a computer company so thought I could sort this myself but I have run out of ideas: the wireless network connection graphic still shows in the taskbar as connected although does not flash with the colours. In network connections it shows the wireless network connection to be connected although when I look at the status of the connection it shows an invalid IP address and if I try to repair the connection it has trouble registering with the DNS. Also the wireless network switch on the laptop I can switch off although this shows no difference in windows (media center edition 2005) and still thinks it is connected. If I do go on the internet in this state the HTTP 404 error message is shown. I have to shut the computer down and restart it again to be able to get back on the network/internet having shut the lid ie entered standby mode. 
PLEASE help if you have any ideas!
