Hi,
I want to get my Vaio work a little bit better, so I thought about getting more RAM and bigger HD for it.
So I look out for some 256MB SO-DIMMs and found Kingston KVR100X64SC2_256, which have the same specification as the corresponding standard SD-RAMs, working on my intel BX-Based Desktop.
Now I looked at the specifications for the F709 on the Sony-Website, where I was stated, that the F709 only supports 2 128MB Modules? - Is this an outdated Information (i.e. the modules where not availible as the site was written)?
Anyone have ever upgraded a F709/K to more than 256MB?
Other questing is regarding the Harddisk. I can not find any statement about the size of a HD for the F709/K. I would like to swap the 18,1GB against a Samsung 60GB. Does this notebook support the size or is it restricted to the "32GB-Limit" (or any other Limit)?
Regards
Thomas
If you look at Crucial you'll be able to see what they say about the memory upgrade. 256MB sounds about right for a model which is now going on 4 years old.
Regarding the hard disk, as long as they use the same interface you should be OK.

Hopefully you'll get some feedback.
