DV camera problem.

I have just bought a PCV-RZ422P but it does not recognise my Panasonic NV-EX3 DV camera. It is connected through i-Link to the rear i-Link port. The computer "beeps" when the device is switched on, but will not come on line to capture. PLEASE help.
