Change DVD Area Code to Area 0

Hi everybody,

does anybody know how to change a DVD/CDrom Drive from Area 1/2 to AREA 0 permanently so you can watch US AND GB coded DVD's!?

I have an VGN -A117S!?#

Hi Luci,

You can change your DVD region by right click my computer > Properties > Hardware tab, Device manager > DVD/CD Roms > right click on your DVD and select properties > DVD region tab > you can change the region there.

However, READ the caution note, as you can only change the region a limited number of times, once the figure reaches ZERO you will not be able to change the region even if you re-install windows.

There are progams available that will allow you to watch different region dvd, doing a quick google i have found DVD Region+CSS Free I have not used this program but it does allow you a fully functional 30 day trial.:smileyhappy:

Region 0 does not mean you can watch all region 2 and 1's, R0 is used to distribute DVDs worldwide, really it has no coding.
