can't delete a file

Hi, I have a problem with deleting a file. It is a song I have downloaded but the name appears too long and now it cannot play or be moved or deleted. Please someone give me advise how to delete it

It does depend tho Windows XP has some VERY wierd file locking rules, mostly related to LSASS.EXE and EXPLORER.EXE.

Safe Mode Comand Prompt Only is the best way to remove offending files, by using the CD and DEL commands.

Mind you the Move On Boot tool is awesome because you can right-click a stubborn file, select the move-on-boot tab and have this software erase the file as Windows XP is starting up.
