Can I upgrade my video card on my VGN-A497XP?

Hi, its been a couple of months since I got my Vaio and it has the Asus X600 installed on it.
ALthough 256 MB should be enough, I'm a videogame maniac and I need more power.
So can I take the old one out and install the X800 for example or would it be wiser to get an external PCI express video card for laptops and use it like that?

Chill out Seb, be a bit more helpful.

Hi Episkopos, the thing with laptops is that just about everything in it is integrated to the mainboard, and is therefore not upgradeable. Obviously the exceptions are usually the RAM which can be added to or changed. I do like the idea of this external PCI Express thing for laptops though as I have a Radeon 9200 in my K-series...

Any ideas or whatever give us a shout and let us know how you got on. Good luck.

Im sorry my friend but i think you have chosen the wrong laptop for the job. You should have got an ALIENWARE laptop if you are a graphics-maniac... An Asus or a Dell might have given you a good punch as well depending on the model of course...
