brightness

You must excuse my sheer novice here but I simply cannoy find how to turn down the brightness on my V series Vaio

Any chance someone with an iota of intelligence can assist me?

Brightness is usually the Function(Fn) key and some other key, looks like circle with spikes around its circumference. So, look for the key on ur keyboard

yes that is correct, the [Fn] button, which is normally found on the bottom right of your keyboard (or a button or so in from the edge), and then for brightness its usually one of the top [F*] keys, on my Vaio VGN-S5XP/B it is [Fn]+[F5] for brightness down & [Fn]+[F6] for brightness display up.

hope that helps you!

Christopher

p.s. the [Fn] key when held down enables all of the blue symbols on your buttons, so just have a look around your keyboard and see what other shortcuts you can do, such as sound, brightness, external displays, scroll lock, etc.

How stupid do I feel!! That's what I have to do on my laptop, trawled over my monitor for old school buttons.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.
