That will be a no then:

Solution V00144

Description:

Does Windows XP SP2 recognise Bluetooth headsets?

Solution:

The Windows XP SP2 does not support the bluetooth headset profile. The following is a list of Bluetooth profiles which are natively supported in Windows XP SP2:

Personal Area Networking (PAN) - enables IP connections over Bluetooth.
Hard Copy Replacement Profile (HCRP) - enables printing via Bluetooth
Host Interface Device (HID) - enables Bluetooth keyboards, mice, and joysticks
Dial-Up Networking (DUN) - enables Bluetooth mobile phones to work as modems
Object Push Profile (OPP) - enables file transfers via Bluetooth
Virtual COM ports (SPP) - enables legacy programs to communicate with Bluetooth devices

I was playing around with my bluetooth headset and vaio laptop today. It paired ok and recognised the headset as an "audio device" but that was it, it was like tempting a gormless lazy dog with an old bone after that, it just ignored it and didnt do anything. I expect there is software around which supports mobile headsets, I dunno where you might find it though. Oh, I tried plugging my ps2 headset in (the one used for SOCOM and verbal abuse over internet games) and it was recognised and worked fine, if thats any good? I was chuffed anyway...
