Battery Problem

Hi, I'm not sure if im posting this in the right area but I hope someone can help me.
I have a Vaio VGN-TX3XP/B and it is working fine but the battery does not seem to ever be fully charged. When it is plugged in the power meter icon in the taskbar always says '100% remaining (charging)'. With other notebooks I've had the icon eventually changes and says 'on ac power' or something like that and displays a plug icon.
As I said the battery holds the charge well but I am just worried about the notebook overcharging the battery and ruining it.

This is normal for Vaio laptops to show charging when running on AV power..
