Audio VGN-285M

hi i was wondering how many channel audio does the VGN-285M laptop have? isit 5.1 or 7.1 etc. i would like to buy a 5.1 speaker system ive seen but i have to find out whether the laptop soundcard will support those speakers. ive checked the spec for the laptop on the sony website but it does not even mention the number of channels supported by the card.

I would be very surprised if your notebook supported anything other than 2.1, and as there is no provision for the subwoofer even this would require buying a new integrated system.

As Rich said, it's 2.1

Unless you get a docking station with SPDIF or a USB soundcard it's not going to happen
