Hi,
I'm having a couple of issues with my Sony Bravia KDL-55EX500. I've spent several hours scanning the internet and this forum so I'm looking for some specific confirmation against the KDL-55EX500 model
1. Widgets. Have I been missold this TV ? I can get internet video, Chrissie Hind is still awesome, but I can't seem to enable the Intenet Widgets. Are they supported by the KDL-55EX500? If not might a future firmware upgrade add this or is the hardware unable to support ? why is intenet video available when widgets aren't ? Surely streaming 1 hour of Pretenders concert is more complex than 5 days of weather forecast ? Are these features not basically the same tech with a different presentation layer ?
2. BBC iPlayer. Lots of posts discussing various problems with this "widget"? (What is the correct term for these internet video 'channels'), but none the same as mine! When I select the iPlayer "thingy", absolutely nothing happens. No loading screen, no hanging, I get sent back to the channel I was previously viewing.
Any help or advice or general pointing in the right direction would be extremely gratefully muchly welcomed.
cheers!
Hi
Thanks
Thanks Catmambo,
1. As I suspected. I get the impression that your product range isn't understood by your resellers.
2. Thanks. Definately at the latest firmware level. Refreshed internet content on several occasions. Sky Player and 5 on demand working ok, iPlayer simply returning me to previous channel. Any further suggestions ? Timescale for next firmware upgrade which may inadvertantly fix me bug ?
Also, several multiple different problems with the youtube application. Someone really needs to have a good look at this.
Thanks
