Sony TV Changing settings when I open a game on my PC (colour fades out)

Hello,

Recently bought a 55" Sony Bravia, I use my PC on it for photo editing and also gaming, when I open a full screen game, the colour changes to a very dull washed out colour but when I check the TV settings, nothing has changed. I use Game Mode for everything. Not sure if it's something to do with HDR but can't seem to change it anywhere anyway while in game mode anyway?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi,

That's normal behaviour. When you're sending PC signals to your TV it switches sttings.

However, you still should be able to adjust the picture settings like colour, brightness etc.

Also you might want to verify the selected colour profile.

Cheers

Peter

Thanks for the reply.

I can still adjust picture settings, but the likes of brightness and contrast is almost at MAX so it makes no difference.

The TV display settings are already great while just using windows 10 but it's only when a game opens at a different resolution that it seems to give the whole display a washed out grey look. And this has only just started to happen, previously the display settings stayed the same when opening games.

The colour profiles haven't changed and are all the same, or is this an action that is required?

It's definitely something to do with HDR, HDR seems to be turning on automatically when I open the game I am having the problem with.

Thanks

It's worth a note also, the game I open changes the resolution

Have you tried pressing the Options button on your remote and then adjusting the settings around? Sony has a guide which might be helpful.
