Sony cx523 Internet tv

Bought the above tv,and in the book that came with it,it says i need a UWA-BR100 wireless adapter.These are £50. Is this the only one i can use or can i get one according to my netgear wireless router. All new to me this so any help will be gratefully appreciated.  Thanks

i'm just looking into homeplugs from solwise as they do a type n wireless range extender that i could plug into a living room socket as my router is upstairs and the tv is downstairs so a direct eithernet cable isnt practical.

the sony dongle is 2.4ghz but just trying to find out what frequency the solwise is, or i could use the wired version and plug an ethernet cable into the tv but i dont have a free socket next to the tv as the solwise adaptor has to go into a dedicated wall socket

i am confused so far.......
