Is anybody else getting picture twitches across some cuts on BBC HD preview 1080p transmissions? My KDL-EX503 shows what looks like 2 or 3 frames of a slightly wider image before zooming back into normal size pictures on occasional picture cuts. 1080p blu ray images are fine.

Worth going here to see if there's a recent firmware update for your model: support.sony-europe.com/main/index.aspx?site=odw_en_GB

Thanks.
I have my TV connected to the internet via the network connection & it automatically checks for updates so I know its on the latest firmware.
May be its a problem Sony are not aware of as its only recently the channels have started this dynamic switching?
BBC started trialling dynamic switching, on the BBC HD channel only, in the Spring, and it's only in the last couple of weeks that it seems to have been adopted by all the broadcasters on the Freeview HD platform.
I dont watch freeview very often as I have Sky+ HD but it is very annoying & distracting when the sreen cuts out for may be half a second, sometimes two or three times a minute.
If you turn on the information banner on the top of the screen, you can watch the switching from 1080i to 1080p and back again. Sometimes more entertaining than the programme!
Yes, I've done that....so true
Thanks Testcard - problem solved. Matched the panel settings for 1080i and 1080p and managed to watch a complete 1080p transmission without any twitches on screen. It never occurred to me that the monitor would treat i and p transmissions differently, certainly explains why the picture jumped on dynamic switching. Wonder if twitching within a 1080p broadcast was due to signal quality/level not being high enough. Either way, I'm glad it's sorted - cheers.
Glad it worked - spread the word!
