KDL37V4000 firmware? can it be updated?

KDL-37V4000 firmware can it be updated? We purchased the TV 2.5 years ago and it has never updated it's firmware  In System information the software version is given as 2.12.207 Starter:2.12.207

whereas the KDL-32EX523 which we bought 2 months ago has updated it's firmware 3 times

well thers nothing on the internet to suggest that you can and due to the age of the set it certainly missed the boat on wired or wireless lan connections, and i cannot find anything to suggest a free to air update either,

so with that in mind im going to say no on that model.

if your KDL-37V4000 working fine with no specific problem, No need to update the firmware

The new models such as  KDL-32EX523 have usual update to improve internet stability

No,  This model didn't have firmware updates. A lot of point to giving it settings to automatically update

Just for your information, if you are interested to update the firmware for an old model . The Sony service center have sometimes an updated firmware to improve performance or fix a specific problem, but it is not announced on the website because it cannot be done by customers, it is done only if customers have complaint (problem) or interested to keep the device updated

You can call them providing the current firmware and inquire if they have new release , they will do it for you on charge basis
