I have a Virgin Media cable entry close to the set. This is split to 2 feeds, one to the set top box for calble tv and another to a wired modem in an upstairs room. I am aware that Virgin Media now supply a wireless modem, but to existing customers this is charged!

Hi again,
there will be an ethernet input on the rear panel of the tv.
Hi,
yes you would be charged for this unless you can upgrade your services in some way, they are a bit cunning with that, perhaps you can soarce a wireless router from somewhere else, maybe e bay or the local paper.
in the meantime the only way is to hardwire using a long ethernet cable from upstairs to your tv, how tidy you make this would depend on your cabling skills, ethernet cables are quite thin so should not be too difficult to hide.
Many thanks for that, I wil give it a try. Do I need anything connected to my TV to connect the ethernet cable, or does it connect direct?
Hi again,
I purchase a Netgear wireless router with wired internet options, together with a Netgear USB adapter. I connected the router to the broadband cable and used an ethernet cable to connect to the TV. I then inserted the USB adapter into my pc, followed the on-screen instructions and now my TV connects to the internet.
Many thanks for your help.
