just for your information and since i have never actually used it yet, i have tried this on my BDP-S570 i have 10meg broadband and wireless connection (router next to the player) played 15 minutes of Eastenders with no problems whatsoever, i know people say a wired connection is more stable than wireless and this is in the pipeline, however since i am not having issues with connectivity i will leave well alone for now.
i suggest you check all your connections again and google Broadband speed test which is a useful tool to check what actual speed you have, its a free test and it may surprise you.
