Hi folks,
I've just bought a 32" EX403 and want to connect to the internet via my laptop and without a dongle...My laptop is connected to the home network(Talktalk) via a wireless connection...Am I able to connect to the tv via a usb line using my laptop as the modem or must I have a dongle.
I would be grateful if someone could help and let me know how to connect.
Thanks.
Hi Stormin99, I plugged a network cable in to my livebox 4160 router from the tv and that worked fine.
Hi, not sure whether USB would be suitable, but as long as you have an ethernet connection (standard network) on your laptop, you can connect your TV to the laptop using a network cable, then 'bridge' the wireless, and wired connections to share the laptop internet connection with the TV. With XP, Vista and 7 I'm pretty sure there will be wizards to help you do this. You can start the process by just left dragging to highlight both network connections, then right-click and select the option to bridge.
I attached a screenshot of what it looks like on my Windows 7 PC.
Try googling "bridge network connections for internet sharing [your operating system here]"
or something along those lines
