how do i get to view hd tv on my bravia kdl-40ex403

can any one explain why i cant get hd tv i have an arial connection and they say that the signal is good or do i have to pay sky or virgen to get it or is there some other way to view hd i thought when i bought my set it had freeview and hd all on it or do the shops con us by having some sort of different arials connected to display in the showrooms maybe it wont happen till late 2012 when analogue is ditched any ideas

Hi,

first of all you need to be clear on the fact your Area/Region has in fact switched to Digital, if you are, to clear any uncertainty about your aerial go to menu (home) on remote, scroll to set up,click that, then scroll to Digital set up, clck that, then technical set up, then system information, you should see Signal quality and level in there, the higher they both are the better.

as for freeview HD, the current channels up are, 50 (BBC1 HD), 51 (ITV 1 HD), 52 (4 HD) 53 (Cirlun) wales only,

and 54 (BBC HD)

thanks catmambo only one thing will i need a freeview-hd set box or is it built in to my tv my area does not change to digital till sept 2012 and will it work of the arial

You made a good decision in buying a Sony as its all integrated already :smileywink:. Just got to wait for switchover now then it will work off your aerial.
