Hello.
I see this issue discussed on numerous AV forums and elsewhere.
I read posts on here and elsewhere about using a Sound setting called Clear Voice or performing a Firmware Update for various sound fixes - unfortunately I have a Sony Bravia KDL-32V2500 which seems to support neither option.
The BBC seem to have recognised broader issues with sound ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/tv/2011/03/is-the-background-music-too-loud.shtml ) as have the FCC in the US ( http://www.fcc.gov/guides/program-background-noise-and-loud-commercials ) and then again various AV forums talk about DTS, DRC, lack of a dedicated channel for voice etc, so I am confused as to what the real problem is.
All I know (by being told) is that there is an issue with the sound, and I can't use my Sony sound system to address is as it was unplugged due to being 'disorientating' and taking up space in the living room, so I am left with the built in speakers in my Sony TV.
Apparently various fiddling in the sound menu can improve things but only temporarily, and I am fed up watching the sound menu superimposed over everything I try to watch.
Anybody got a magic bullet for TVs that have this issue with built-in speakers but don't support Clear Voice or Firmware Updates?
