Bravia KDL 40NX 803 - Screen broken

I broke my Sony Bravia KDL 40NX 803 LED tv screen. There is a crack on TV now. Does that mean it is worthless and of no use? Can I change just the screen? Please advise.

Yes the screen is replacable but finding another screen is going to be your biggest challenge as Sony has yet to reveal to me even the part number for my tv so that I can look for one.  It would be really neat if they could even answer my emails.

Yep finally got a reply.  But still no clear answer and I still cannot order the LCD pannel.

Hi All, LCD panels can only be ordered by a Sony Authorised Service Centre, there is no way for a consumer to order a panel, as THEY COME WITH A 1 YEAR GUARANTEE, they have to be installed by our service network

Then may I ask how an individual like me would become a "Sony Authorised Service Centre" or is it only for the businesses to charge you the same amount to repair as would be to get a new TV?
