I brought a Sony Bravia KDL-40W5810 for a lot of money 18 months ago and on the whole am very happy with it.
However it appears we have had no extra widgets added since as far back as I can remember?
I spent ages researching which TV I was going to get, and one of the things under Sony's own description says
View information from the internet on screen while watching TV with Applicast™. Pre-installed services include a series of handy widgets such as an Analogue Clock and a Calendar, and in the future you can download even more.
Yet unless I'm missing something (which I could be), new widgets are only being released for later models???
I could understand if the model was years old, but I've still got 6 months left of paying for it and have had no new firmware since April 2010????
Have I been abandoned by Sony already?
