I just purchased a used Xperia Active ST 17a with ICS and I'm having problems getting it to work with internet and MMS with my service. The phone connects fine to my network for talk and text and can get internet with WIFI. The service I'm with, Immix, has sent me all the APN information for them of which I have entered correctly and have active (blue dot) with data settings on the phone all set on for network internet and no go for connection. I can swap my sim card to my old trusty Nokia 6700 Slide and I set the APN on that phone for my network and bam...internet connection. The Sony is picking up my network as it show Immix (active) and T-Mobile/AT&T available. I'm scratching my head on this one and even factory defaulted the phone to start again from scratch in case something glitched. The Immix tech I'm working with is also perplexed. Immix wireless uses GSM 1900 MHz for 2g and Edge and has roaming contracts with T-Mobile and maybe AT&T to some extent. The radio frequencies and sim card are the same for Xperia Active and my old Nokia which I reviewed extensively so I new the Sony should definately work on my network and others. I don't require blazing internet speeds so I knew I would be fine frequency wise for 2G and was not expecting any need for alternate frequencies required for faster data speeds.
Immix APN settings:
**NOTE: Some new handsets coming from our vendor have the APN type NOT SET correctly. Please ensure that you tap the ‘APN Type’ field and manually select ‘Internet + MMS’. Ensure the green bubble to the right of ‘Internet + MMS’ is lit before saving the APN. **
5. Press ‘Menu’ (left soft key) and select ‘Save’.
Note: At this point, ensure that the radio button for the ADAT profile is selected. If you tap it once, it should turn green to show it’s selected, like this: Photo showing: Android APN selection screen with the network name Ibiz above biz.immix.com and green dot to the right.
6. Go back to Wireless and networks ->Mobile networks
7. Ensure “Data roaming” and is checked.
8. Ensure “Network Mode” is set to “GSM only”.
All of these settings have been followed exactly, but with no positive results for network data connection. One thing of note which may be the issue is my phone lists the APN in my phone as: ADAT biz.immix.com with blue dot to right. I'll try changing the name from ADAT to Ibiz to see if that does anything, but I would greatly appreciate any help from fellow users and guru's to get this phone going. I purposely got this phone from all the other new gadgets out there because I liked the features...it's got all that I want and nothing I really don't and would love to see Sony make an appropriate model update of this phone. Thanks
Tried changing the name from "ADAT" to "Ibiz" and it didn't make a difference. I changed the format of this post as it jumbled everything together when I placed...hope it looks better and is easier to read.
Again thank you.

Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi there!
Try this: Erase the APN. and in a new one you will enter only this information:
Name: ADAT
APN: biz.immix.com
MMSC: http://mms.immix.csky.us:6672/
Leave all else empty or the default values only enter the ones on top.
Then save and try to use the web.
(Solution tested and it works)
Have a good day.
Francis.
