Elm not recognising contacts already on sim card?

inserted sim card with all contacts messages etc from previous phone (Nokia 6233) and no trace of them on my contacts on the Elm (new, received today). Checked out support but no success - am sure this must be a simple problem to solve - anyone out there have the answer?

Why don't you Bluetooth the contacts from the Nokia to the SE phone?

Have you chosen to view the SIM contacts? You can copy them to the phone and then they will appear as phone contacts,

that seems to be the problem, as I cannot view the previously existing sim contacts and cannot find any way of doing this in the help guide. how do I copy these to the phone? when I access file manager, then options and memory status i am only given the options of memory card (a 4GB I have inserted) or the phone memory (254 MB free) but no sim memory.

If you go to the Contacts menu--options(left soft button)--scroll down to More--SIM contacts---Also scroll down to Advanced--Copy from SIM.

It would seem that my problem lies elsewhere! I have now been able to access my previous phone (a Nokia 6233) again and realised that all the contacts are stored on the phone memory of that phone - unfortunately when i try to move them onto a microSD (2GB) card I get the warning that the phone memory is protected! I have sent off an email to Nokia about this - if you do have an idea I would be grateful, and many thanks for your suggestions, regards, M.

thanks - a bit tedious as can only do one at a time, but works fine.
