No sound through optical input on STR-DH520

Hello

I have just bought a SONY STR-DH520 soround reciever and I have a little problem that I can't solve.

I have a DVI to HDMI cable from my MacMini to BD/DVD HDMI input on HD520

I have a optical cable from MacMini to the assignable optical input.

I select the BD/DVD input and I get picture from the Mac but no sound.

Disconnect the HDMI and the sound play as it should.

Reconnect the HDMI and sound go away.

I have assigned the optical input to BD/DVD video and have tried to set Ctrl.hdmi to off but it still wont play sound and video at the same time.

Anyone have an good idea ?

That's normal.

Normaly the HDMI input will receive the Video+Audio. Since you are using a DVI, only picture pass through.

For having both in ur configuration, you have two choices:

Easiest: Connect the HDMI directly to your TV set and leave the optical connected to the amp and voilà!

Harder: you have to go through the set up menu to pair up the HDMI video with the optical in you are using. Once done, you'll be able to have video & sound while selecting BD/DVD HDMI in.
