Dvd player not responding to remote or buttons

I purchased a 4k player at Christmas 18 and it fails to respond to remote commands or the buttons on the player itself on an almost daily basis. The only way to resolve the issue and get it working again is to unplug and then plug in again to reboot. This is impractical.  Does anyone know of a lasting remedy to this problem?

DVD players are not that reliable anyway, try rebooting it with long oressing the power button if any.
