My sony wireless speakers (2 x srs-x77 and srs-x88) no longer play in time with my 2 airport express units and my Sony MAP-S1. The srs-x77 speakers used to be perfectly synchronised, the srs-x88 has been out of time since I bought it in late 2017 I suspect the August 2017 firmware upgrade is to blame, as it wasn't till I manually upgraded the firmware that the problem started. I have tried several different modems, including using an airport express as the router. It's not an apple issue as the MAP-S1 is still in time with the airports. The firmware page says that's its not possible to roll back the latest firmware. Sony does not appear to be interested in airplay anymore, unfortunately my 3 units are basically bricked for the purpose that I bought them. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know of a way to reinstall old firmware? Thanks.
Hi there,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
I don't believe it is possible to revert back to a previous firmware version.
It might be best to get in touch with the support team for further help on this issue here.
Best wishes,
Sean Mc
Thanks Sean. No luck so far.

Hi Ed
Yes I've done that, their reply didn't help at all.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
Have you tried resetting the speakers to factory settings?

Hi again,
I know this is a strange question, but have you tried playing content on the speakers as a group in a different place? There could be some sort of interference that's causing the signals to go out of sync.
Also, you can try deleting the group and creating it again if you didn't do that already.

Hi spyrothedragon,
I can't really find confirmation that connecting the speakers together in this way is supported. Usually, with a Multi-room set-up, the connection between the speakers is established through Wi-Fi, which works fine as you mentioned. But adding the MAP-S1 to the mix can have that effect on the system.
