Compatible external hdd for Bravia tv

Recently I purchased a hdd for kd-49xf07073 thought it ticked all boxes then when I plugged it in to TVs usb port it wasn't recognised I tried formatting it on my pc to X fat and ntfs both didn't work can any one help me find a hdd that will work so I can record n pause tv. the max out put current for TVs Usb port is 500ma

I've just came across this link https://bit.ly/2twVEWx, which states the requirements of the compatible HDDs. I'd recommend making sure that the HDD you're using has got matching specifications.
