I can´t install the Sony Reader software on my PC
I can not install the Sony Reader software on my PC (W7 64 bit), I turned off the firewall and shut down the virus program. InstallShield says "please wait" and I've done it for two hours!!??, but nothing happens with the installation. I connected my PRS T1 via USB and also tried with Reader Installer from Sony download site, but no, nothing's working. PLEASE HELP ME!

Hi zemaphore,
welcome to Questions & Answers..:smileyhappy:
I had a issue installing the updated reader software & this worked for me..
First disconnect your Reader for your PC..
Goto Control Panel & launch Device Manager
In Device Manager click on the Processes tab
Locate & select Reader Apphelper.exe in the list & click end task
then do the same for Reader AppHelper.exe..
Hopefully after ending those processes the reader software should install..:smileyconfused:

Thanks for your reply. No, unfortunately not, the only thing that was running was ReaderInstaller.exe * 32. Reader Apphelper.exe was not in the processes list.
In the program list it says it is running but nothing happens..
(I have admin rights on your computer).
Additional:
I tried to install the Reader software were on my notebook running Windows XP and the installation worked, very strange. But not on my W7 computers.

I sympathise with you Zemaphore. Installation is frustratingly bizarre; "it" keeps aking for ID ABOBE which I should approve somewhere on the website which I cannot access! Snake biting its tail, isn't it? Anyone could solve this?
