Any ideas how to make the process of using wifi to transfer images from camera to android tablet more reliable (worked once, eventually) and less like hard work: Connecting to wifi difficult, using Imaging Edge software not as simple as it should be. Looks like I'll be continuing to use my OTG cable and card reader for transferring photos to my Android tablet.

Further to my earlier reply, I attempted to add a 'P.S.' , but that seems to have vanished.
Thankyou for your efforts. Out of curiosity, when the camera had spent some time trying to connect, I pressed the 'Cancel' button (on the QR code page) and THEN I got the 'Voila' moment. The photo transferred no problem!
Hi there,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
Which software are you using to transfer the photos?
Best wishes,
Sean
Thanks for your reply Sean. I posted this 'in error' on the 'camcorders' feed. I re-posted for digital 'still' cameras. Basic problem: I have a good wifi setup at home. I tried (and eventually 'succeeded' once) to transfer one photo from my new Sony DSC RX100 vii to my Samsung TabS 4, to find out 'how it works'/'is it any good'. Conclusion: It takes far too long and isn't reliable (only one 'success' after 4 or 5 attempts).
Hi miwilli65,
I'll see if I can find anything out for you. Maybe someone else in the community can help in the meantime.
Thanks,
Pascale
Hi Miwilli65,
I used to struggle when I first tried this. Let me tell you the easiest way to do it.
1- Open camera, go to the settings and choose the send to smart phone option.
2- On your Android device, go to setting and enable WiFi as if you'll connect to a network.
3- On the camera select whether you'd like to select the photos on the camera or on the smart phone.
4- On the phone a WiFi network will appear, called Direct- xxxx ( probably will be the model number of the camera)
5- Choose this network, the device will connect to it.
6- Open the Imaging edge app and voila! All of the pictures should be there.
Cheers,
Rose
