It depends which model you have - some work with an update to Picture Motion Browser.  Have a look at the table here for the Vista Compatibility for your model.

Sony gave notice that Legacy Camcorders would not be supported with Vista or Windows 7.  However, it may be possible to copy video files to your PC using iLink.

its a dcr trv 265e model. the software that came wit it was for xp and my computers vista so i never was able to use it?????, i thought vista was a more recent system.

Picture Package will not work with Vista.

Your model should work with the newer Picture Motion Browser - you can download it from here: -

i ve tried to download picture motion browser as you told me but i don t have the codes it s looking for. i ve misplaced the origional cd. is their anyway around this. regards padraig
