CamCorder Auto-Switch Off - Annoying

I have a SONY CamCorder HDR-PJ780ve.

Is there is a way of watching myself live onto a TV (without recording) - as the Camcorder keeps turning off after a minute or so if I don't use any functions with it, like press Record or something?

I just want to connect to my TV screen and view myself in the music studio then have an option to press record maybe 5-10 minutes later.  

There must be some setting somewhere for auto-switch off???
