KD-43X8309C - Reset done but still flashing white with no picture HELP

KD-43X8309C - Reset done but still flashing white with no picture HELP

having not been used for 7 days we have just returned home to our tv not working. At one point it was showing a red light. We have unplugged and then done a reset which turned the colour to green. The light then has changed to white and turns on and off (not flashing) every so often the screen shows the 4 circle symbols - each time the symbols look different as though the symbols are swirling. The time varies between how often the symbols show. it has now been in this way for a hour. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi there,

Have you updated to the latest firmware?

Best wishes,

Hi Michael,

Not sure how to do that! haha the tv was in regular use before the week away (daily) and updated automatically ad hoc (however can't recall it having done so for a little while). It literally doesn't move past the 4 circles on the screen (i left it on for 24 hours to see what progress it made and it was minimal) so cant get into any settings etc is there a way of installing the latest firmware without the screen being needed ?

Thanks for any help

If you saw a red light flashing you probably have an hardware error that only a support center can analyze (probably looking at the symptoms is the mother board...).

You can try a forced factory reset by using the tv buttons, but I think it won't solve the issue. May worth a try though

Following on what Michael said earlier, there's a chance this may be caused by some sort of glitch and updating the TV might help.

You can try updating the TV manually using a flash drive with the latest update file installed on it. Here's the link for the latest update from the Sony website: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-x83xxc-series/kd-43x8309c/downloads/00016...
