Britbox will it be available on Sony Bravia 8088

Britbox launched today, but is not available on the Play Store. Do we know if it will be made available vi a play store App?

Not used Britbox so not sure. You would probably have to approach the BBC/ITV to see if they intend to support Android TV. Do they have a standard Android app and does it support Chromecast? You might be able to cast to the TV.

Can you cast from an Android mobile or Tablet to the TV from the Android device application?

Tried to, but was unable to cast from my Galaxy TAB S2 to my Sony Bravia KD-43XD8088.  Seems that the present app lacks the Chromecast functionality that for instance the iPlayer app has, so it is probably just a matter of time till they add this.

Britbox is not available on Brava TV because Sony is not interested in its UK customers. Sorry folks but you chose the wrong TV.
