A6000 - Wireless connection to PC problems

I've tried to connect my A6000 to my PC wirelessly, but whilst the camera indicates it can see the PC, it won't connect. I've gone through the procedure of connecting the camera to my PC via USB cable and setting up the parameters in Play Memories and then unplugging the USB cable. I followed the process as laid out on a good YouTube video but to no avail. I can transfer to my Android phone using NFC OK.

Is there a tweak I'm not using that will allow the connection?

Suggestions appreciated.

Hi

Check your network settings.

If the windows network is set as being connected to a public network Windows will refuse connection.

Set it to private network.

If it already is set as a private network then check trusted devices.

The playmemorieshome app should have been dealing this in the firewall settings by itself or by questioning you about the firewall settings.

My solution when computers are unwilling is a reset.

In this case uninstall playmemorieshome, restart the computer, install playmemorieshome, reset camera connections in your camera and then start all over again.

Sometimes it's harder to find the problem and solve it than to start all over again.

Hi andytaft44,

Could you share the outcome of changing Windows network to a private one?
