I've recently bought a Sony Xperia 10 II cellphone which I'm perfectly happy with.
However, there's one minor detail I must ask about.
I would like to add an own sound for incoming messages but that seems impossible. I've tried to import the sound file to the phone but it doesn't show up among the preset sound for messages which comes with the phone.
It has worked fine to import an own ringtone and for alarm but for messages it doesn't seem to work.
OK, its a minor detail but I have had the same message on my two previous cellphones and it would be very nice to have it on this one too.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Go in to the message app, go to "settings" then "notifications".
Tap "incoming messages", then "advanced"
Then tap "sound" option and scroll to the bottom of the list of ringtones.
You should see "add notification"
Thank you for information.
it was a little trickier than I thought. I had to download the file to my Google drive and import it from there.
But it seems to work as I want it now! 👍
I just usually plug the phone into my pc and drag n drop
I mainly just rip my music discs and use them ...you do need to allow access to SD cards for individual apps
I found out how to add sounds with drag and drop as well.
Unfortunately I 've got another problem.
Now the telephone is randomly altering the sounds of my phone which affects both the ring signal and the messages signal. Instead of the two sounds I added, I constantly gets "Scarabeus" as my signal for both incoming calls and messages.
And I don't want "Scarabeus" as my signal. I want the two soundfiles I added and nothing else!
I don't know if this has anything to do with a recent update the phone forced upon me or not. I must admit that I've never encountered such a silly problem on any of my phones before.
I would appreciate any help I can get to solve this problem.
Hi@ Northpower98
Can you just explain more about the issue to be able to check from my end?
