xperia transfer mobile does not work on the xperia 1 .... what to do?
As the manual says if you come from Android; Use Google backup from old device and restore on your X1.
It will set up all your contacts, SMS, call log, applications, etc etc.
Backup to SD-card should also work, although I have never used it.

For me SMS and call log doesn't work, rest was synced.
Use the SMS Backup & Restore app - it's brilliant. Backup from your old phone to Google Drive, then restore onto your new phone. It works for SMS and call logs - although it took a little while to restore all 5000+ SMSs...
Hi guys, I am sorry for the late response but let me see if I can help out here!
@Michi_Pupsi: If you want to transfer data from your old phone to your new one, I suggest as @RuneJ mentioned that you use Googles backup & restore-function. This way you will be able to transfer mail, calendar, contacts, applications, setting, call history as well as images, videos, music and other document files.
For more information on how to backup your data to your Google account, click here. Please note that if you have already set your Xperia 1 up, you will need to do a factory reset on your Xperia 1 in order to gain access to the setup menu again. When prompted in the setup guide to copy apps & data, tap NEXT followed by choosing A backup from the cloud or A backup from an Android phone. both. Both options allow you to restore data from Google Drive.
I hope that helped. let me know if you have further questions!
Not supporting Xperia Transfer Mobile is really ridiculous. So far, no OEM has cancelled its own similar apps and turned to Google. How many thousands of people in Tokyo have difficulty maintaining a once-useful changeover application? Have you ever used iOS for a change? Not only applications, but also application data, desktop icon order can be copied perfectly. Google Backup can't do this at all, Xperia Transfer Mobile used to be! Now you have cut this feature! Then why don't we buy Pixel?
Very bad move of sony, such a standard app and they kicked it out... No comment.
I will think twice if I will decide to support this company with my money again. This software treatment is not what I expect.
As mentioned before:
Backup old device via Google Backup/Drive and backup of photos via Google Photos will copy everything from contacts, sms, photos, files, etc to downloaded applications/programs ( programs will be downloaded from Google Play Store and installed).
I went from an XZ2 to X1, everything was installed and setup on the X1.
It actually worked better that using Xperia Transfer in the past
No!
I think that´s not right.
Not every app ist transfered with data. A lot of apps are installed from Playstore without data. So you have to configure them new. The order of and the apps from homescreen are not transferred.
Mail accounts don´t work correctly after restore and many more problems.
So it takes hours of time to reconfigure the new phone.
But in my opinion that´s not the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that if I use google cloud backup, google stores all my credentials in the cloud and i don´t know who has acces to my mail accounts, wifi passwords and so on.
So if you think it´s okay that google has access to all data don´t worry.
In my opinion it´s a catastophy for SONY to rely only on google services. No other manufacturer does it like SONY.
Kind regards
Hi Xperia Support,
Maybe you should revisit Xperia 10 plus bug on Software patch "Unresponsive Touchscreen" Aren't you suppose to support us too even if it's just a Mid Range phone?
