    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi wilhelmhugo, &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have no idea on repairers in your area but the symptoms you describe do pint to a hardware problem and this may possibly be memory related.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Assuming that you have more that one memory module fitted it may be worth trying one module singly in each slot followed by a re-boot. Your model has two memory slots – one under the keyboard and one in a compartment on the underside of the notebook. I suggest that you have a look at your &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://www.vaio-link.com/manuals/manuals.asp?l=en&amp;amp;category=-1&amp;amp;serie=-1&amp;amp;m=1731" target="_blank"&gt;User Manual&lt;/A&gt; for further guidance.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <title>Black Screen Vaio VGN A217M</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;This morning when booting for 2 seconds I could see the Vaio sign- theréafter the screen remained black. This morning was my date for an back up of imprtant files.&lt;BR /&gt;Neihter a boot CD nor additional attempts could wake´up the machine. &lt;BR /&gt;All support efforts  towards Sony support websides evidently areblocked - may be due to the fact that I bought it already in Dec. 2004.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This is not what I intended when spending 2000 Euro for a good notebook.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Who - as Sony evidently does not support Vaios more than one year old - can tell me which compnay in the Duesseldorf Aerea couldt ry to speedily repair my Vaio.:smileysad:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
