I know that theoretically the battery should keep well if I constantly switch the power outlet on and off. But how it is in practice? Will the battery life shorten significantly if I switch on the power before the battery is fully discharged? Should I remove the battery when I use the power outlet? I ask these questions because I remember that li-ion batteries on a toshiba laptop never lasted more than a half year, a battery on my dell laptop lasted a bit less than a year, and the battery on my previous IBM laptop lasted 1.5-2 years.
