topic Question about the standard battery of a VAIO laptop. in PCs & Accessories

Hi,
I've got a new vgn-sz1vp laptop and use it every day at work and at home. I know that theoretically the battery should keep well if I constantly switch the power outlet on and off. But how it is in practice? Will the battery life shorten significantly if I switch on the power before the battery is fully discharged? Should I remove the battery when I use the power outlet? I ask these questions because I remember that li-ion batteries on a toshiba laptop never lasted more than a half year, a battery on my dell laptop lasted a bit less than a year, and the battery on my previous IBM laptop lasted 1.5-2 years. What battery lifetime should I expect from my vgn-sz1vp laptop? Please, share your experience. Thanks in advance.
