Boot time

hi, my vaio takes about 2.30 minutes to start up. is there anything i can do to speed up the boot time. My model is SVS1511N3ES. familiar notebooks with the same characteristics are faster .Thanks for the answers

Hi tsolx2,

Slow startup can be difficult to narrow down. It can be caused by the system looking for keys in the registry that no longer exist or/and by the number of startup processes, many of which are unnecessary.

For possible registry problems you could try a registry cleaner.

If you choose one of the utilities linked and a ‘Tuneup’ utility is included I advise caution – just use the registry cleaner.

To examine Startup processes press Windows key + R and type msconfig in the ‘Open:’ field > click OK then click the Startup tab.

You could also examine ‘Event Viewer’ to see whether it gives any indication of the reason for slow boot time.
