How can i get the sound recorded by the camcorder recorded on to the cd also? When recording is captured I keep being asked which music file I want to included. I don't I just want the background noises recorded with the pictures

Sounds like you should just use other software... Many vaio's come with adobe premiere elements, in which you can do pretty much everything you want, non professionally.
The DV gate plus utility also just captures the recorded material as it is on the tape, I think...

Ulead Video Studio.. Probably one of the best and most easiest for the "Non" tech head beginners out there.

real easy user interface, coupled with some of the most "Budget" Advanced features you can find in a package for it's price range

did some video footage from paragliding not so long back and got them online.. what i have done doesn't even come close the extended possibilities of this video capture and editing suite, but you can see some of the results :
