Sony VAIO XL302 BIOS Post "beebs"

Hi,

after years of faithful service my Sony VAIO XL302 wont power up after we had a mains power supply failure the other night.

On powering the XL302 on all I get is an endless series of long "beebs" from the motherboard.

I've tried resettimg CMOS using the jumper and i have replaced the backup battery - with no improvement

Can anyone let me know what the XL302 POST and beep codes mean?

Hi Jim and welcome.

Sounds like it is likely to be a power issue.

Have a look at the BEEP Codes here: -

See if you can identify the sequence of beeps.

Thanks for the quick response and trying to help!!

I've had a look at that reference, but unfortunately each manufacturer's BIOSs seem to be different. I was hoping to get the specific codes for the Sony VAIO XL302 - unless of course I have missed something obvious! :
