When I plug in my speakers or headphones in the jack on my laptop I expect the laptop's own small speakers to stop playing sound. However I get double sound output, both through the plugged in headphones/speakers and the laptop's speakers. I'm running Sony VAIO with Windows Seven.

It would seem that this has failed. You could try plugging and unplugging the external speakers rapidly, several times, in the hope that this will free up the switch, but I doubt that this will work.

If the machine is still in warranty contact support, otherwise speak to one of the Sony repair partners.

Rich
