Zero key keeps repeating itself

The zero key on my laptop keyboard keeps repeating itself without me even touching it. If i switch on and go to type my password it is already pre-populating the dialogue box with a succession of zeros. Once i eventually get past this and open the google homepage again, the dialogue box fills up with zeros. That particlar key does not actually work itself when i press it.

Can anyone help?

^{This is most likely a hardware or cabling problem with the keyboard. You could try blowing out any debris using a can of compressed air but chances are your keyboard will need replacing.}
