Hi Atomisti,

I read an article on Sony website saying that the e noise canceling function works primarily for noise in the low frequency band. Although noise is reduced, it is not canceled completely.

Here's the link: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00203389

I think that it's normal not to cancel such noise .

Cheers,
The_Black_Rose

Hi, I just bought Sony sp600n in-ear earphones because there are blowers drying the concrete in my apartment after a water damage. The sound is about the same as inside an airplane but louder. It's hard to sleep. So I did some googling and found out that the sp600n indeed can cancel some noise and decided to give them a try.

The ambient sound option adds some "more" noise, as it probably should, but it doesn't help. The noise-canceling option, on the other hand, does nothing. The noise I hear remains exactly the same no matter whether the option is on or off.

I don't know what's going on: are the earphones broken or are they just useless. I could test them but how? A test noise from a computer that the working earphones clearly cancel out?

PS. I ended up setting up Google Assistant (because the App suggested it) but just got the error message "Google assistant can't be reached2 or something along those lines.
