WH-1000XM3 Ambient sound randomly switches on

I always listen in NC mode but for every use after about the first 10 minutes it randomly switches to Ambient noise mode. And no I'm not pressing the NC/AMBIENT button! Is this a common issue? I'm running firmware 2.0

Have you tried to initialise it to factory settings? You'll find instructions on how to do that here.

Do you have Adaptive Sound Control turned on?

This was happening to me, and that was the reason.

I too assume that this is the issue here.

You can deactivate it in the options of the "Headphones Connect"-app.

Okay so why have a feature that completely affects the experience of these headphones.

I was running and every 30 seconds it does this and the only fix is to turn the super nice (would be nice to have) feature off?

Surely there’s a nicer answer.

the answer might surprise you - because some people actually use/want said feature.

A computer might be able to edit videos or program a game, this still doesn't mean you can't use it to just browse the internet on.
