Sony MDR 1000X Bracket broken

Hi,

I have a pair of MDRX-1000 headphones and I use them lightly. I noticed a crack on them the other day and it has started getting bigger. I was under the impression that these headphones were made of high qulaity materials and were durable. Although I have not dropped them or stretched them too much, they seem to be falling apart.

Given the high price, I am very disappointed and did not expect this from a company like Sony.

Will this be covered under warranty? I have read that many many other users have faced this issue and not much is being done and sony is not honoring its warranty and living up to its warranty.

Is this true?

Hi Matsal96,

I've had the exact same issue with mine, one bracket broke with 6 months of owning, 12 months later both brackets have completely broken!

I only use mine in the house, and they are treated very carefully as you rightly say they aren't cheap! How did you get on with the Sony support?
